Sprint Early But Late to the Party?
2010... a great year for Sprint, Android, and big screens! The HTC Evo 4G was not only the first 4G phone in America, but it helped pushed the big screen addiction we currently have going on (unless you own an iPhone). Speeds were fairly quick on the WiMax technology that Sprint was using. But once Verizon released LTE, and AT&T rolling it out these past weeks, WiMax, has well, been lagging behind! But this week Sprint announced their ready-to-roll markets along with a LEAKED LTE phone. And with that, we have a leak of Sprint's service, and it is glorious to say the least. Averaging around 40MBPS down, and even going up to 44MBPS! So, a bit too early to the party, but late is better than never!
Here are the speed tests performed...
To put it into perspective, these speeds are on par or even faster than your broadband internet (cable, FiOS) at home or at school.
Now, if we could only get some Windows Phone 7 phones in SPRINT'S lineup.

Short End of the Stick for Consumers?
We, as consumers, seem to always get screwed over. And of course, Hollywood makes no exception! All Things D is reporting that Warner Bros. will make the wait to rent their movies even longer. Netflix, Blockbuster, and Redbox will now have to wait 56 days... YES, 56 days!! after the disc has released for consumers to rent it. Netflix barely gets any DVD's to begin with (in my opinion of course) but Redbox and Blockbuster will have to wait too! It seems like that "28 days before Netflix and Redbox" will be hitting Blockbuster hard. This is only one studio, but with most things, everyone else seems to follow suit!

Xbox 720 and PS4?
MCV has come and said "Both the Xbox 360 successor AND a follow up to the PS3 will be shown at E3 2012." They have also said that we may not see an unveiling, price, and/or release date. But, they said that the announcement will be made in some way/form/fashion that will make all the little nerds gasp in excitement!
So there you have it... Start saving in that piggy bank in which you emptied to buy those Christmas presents this past year, or buy a bigger piggy bank!

iPad 3 & 4 In One Year?
Ahhh, with a new year we get new rumors. And the rumors are pouring in! Especially those rumors from what the next iPad will/won't feature! Of course, we all know how underwhelming the display is on the iPad 2 is, and don't get me started on the camera! But, as we all know, Apple's major changes come within the next generation (just ask the iPhone 4s). So the iPad 3 is rumored to come with a Retina display and *fingers-crossed* come with a quad-core processor (iPad 2 uses dual-core) which is what does all of the hard computing work for your device to run smoothly. The rumor is also stating how the new iPad will finally ship with a camera that isn't so grainy and low-end. They are also saying that they will turn around and ship the iPad 4 in October, but I call FIBS from so called "analysts". We will find out soon enough, and like with all rumors, take this with a pinch of salt.

First 4G LTE Phone On Sprint?
Soooo... I (and other Sprint customers) have been drooling over the GALAXY NEXUS. Well, as they say, "the cat is out of the bag"! CNET got ahold of some incriminating evidence! Yes, the Galaxy Nexus is coming to the Now Network. All of the good and yummy Ice Cream Sandwich goodness is being marketed as the "first" 4G LTE phone on Sprint. And just like that the ad was removed all in one swoop!Sprint today also announced that they have four LTE markets ready for the mid 2012 launch. This doesn't that they wouldn't launch the G Nexus soon and activate the LTE when it is made ready! Take a gander at the sah-weet ad below!

Gorilla Glass 2 Unveiling At CES 2012?
CES is fast approaching and with it new technologies will be unveiled. Of course, glass is not limited to this new technology... specifically Gorilla Glass 2! You may or may not have hear of Gorilla Glass. Gorilla Glass is a very strong glass, which is scratch "resistant". Of course, like many things it is not perfect. You can search YouTube for "scratch tests" or "Gorilla Glass" and see how strong it is. Some people decide to rock their smart phones without screen protectors. I tried that, and got a tiny scratch on my phone, so I opt for a screen protector. Let's see what Corning has to offer with their second iteration.

FREE Tethering For All
Ahh, the craziness that is Android. You can be stuck with one of the worst phones, or stuck with the most powerful, speed demon, monster of phones! Yes, that is the life I like to call Android. But, thanks to Google's openness everyone can do practically anything to their phone. Unlike iPhone users who are stuck in the endless grid that is iOS, we have the opportunity to do what we want, including changing the interface we use!
So until now, to use TETHERING Android users had to ROOT their phones to use this function without carriers imposing their surcharges on us users. Let me paint a pointless scenario for you...
So, you are at the park with your laptop but no internet... What is a poor soul to do? You could always get the ClockworkMod Tether which allows you to give life (internet) to your laptop! It works under the radar so that your carrier does not notice and gives you the power, to, well, be a power user! The great thing is that it works with your Windows, Mac, or Linux computer! You can go to Koushik Dutta's Google+ page and check out the source by clicking ==> HERE <== to start tethering! While you are there... Make sure to add me too!
I will update it later tonight and let you know how it is working on my end! I would like to advise that the application is not 100% yet but Dutta is working on it and would like your input!
Now I can finally blog on my way to-and-fro work!
Don't forget to follow me by clicking "follow this site" to the right. Also, comment on what you think or how much you hate my blog and how you could be doing a better job!
Don't forget to share the hate with your friends and poking fun at me by sharing this with the Facebook like button, the Google+ plus1 button, and/or Tweet to your friends to have a make-fun-of party on this blog!

Droid Razr Case On Sale
Sure, many phones got activated on Christmas? But how many of you got the razor thin (yea... I went there) Droid Razr? I doubt many of you did, but for those of you who did... There is a transparent case advertised as "a transparent plastic case that adds minimum bulk and is hardly noticeable". Sure, that KEVLAR exterior may be bullet proof strong, but can you risk getting scratches on the "thinnest" smart phone on the market... currently?
Check ==> HERE <== if you would like to take a glimpse or purchase the case.
I'll add a photo just for the heck of it! Oh right, the offer is today only...
You know the drill...
Don't forget to share this to your Droid Razr touting friends on Facebook, Google+, or Twitter!

Wow, You've Been Busy!
Apparently, since you got your new smart phone you have been downloading a lot. No, A LOT! Yes, during the Holiday week, everyone achieved to download 1.2 billion... billion apps! Of course this was a combination of the Apple App Store and the Android Market. That is an amazing feat if you ask me! Of course this is no small feat seeing as smart phone activation's (mainly iOS and Android) topped 6.8 million activation's on Christmas day alone! Yes, significant number! So while you play Angry Birds, I'll be playing GTA III. Look at this neat chart I have below!

Siri Look-A-Like For Windows Phone 7?
So, your iPhone touting friend just traded in his/her iPhone 4 for the 4s, but you can't tell the difference until he/she holds the home button and poof, Siri the assistant shows up! Sure, Apple did market it as a "4s" feature only, but as us geeks know, that is a LIE (and more LIES)! And sure, it is one of the most over-hyped "features" (along with face unlock by Android) of 2011! And sure, many devices have had voice command, but not as "sophisticated" as Siri.
So yes, while Siri can be ported to older iOS devices that is not the point of this... post. The point is, well, Windows Phone 7's unofficial answer... Ask Ziggy. Ziggy is not a native app from Microsoft, but nevertheless it is very impressive. The developer, Shai Leib, is using the voice-recognition software from Nuance akin to what Apple uses with WOLFRAM ALPHA. Even though Leib is using the Nuance software, everything else is his coding and work! It is pretty amazing what developers can do! Sure, it is not as polished as Siri, but for a small time developer this is a great feat! Imagine if Microsoft took the reigns on this thing (with the developer of course) and how far it could go! Well, go ahead, bask in the glory of Ask Ziggy.
