What I Am Geeking About: GN

Sooo... (as I start most of my posts) two night's ago after work I was feeling under the weather.  And no, not because of a cold, flu, stomach pains, head aches (I actually rarely get sick), but because I felt like a junkie!  You see, I have a horrible obsession (which I plan to get help for... but not now) with phones! I cannot keep a phone for too long!  It... just... gets... boring!  Ever since I got my first phone (which was a brand-spankin' new flip phone... WITH A CAMERA in '04) I upgraded yearly.  This was before I became as geeky as I am now.  This past year has been especially bad with three different phones in about a span of one year and a month.  Anyways... totally off subject!  ...So, I caught a Verizon store on the way home and hopped the curb and drove into the all glass store (No I am kidding I parked like any other normal person) just to catch a glimpse of the all beautiful Galaxy Nexus!

I walked in and and asked to view a Galaxy Nexus.  They didn't even have a dang phone on display!  I was the first one to try out the display model as they had to pop the battery in and boot it in my presence *ahhhhhh (in an angelic voice)*.  The Galaxy Nexus is absolutely gorgeous!!  I compared it to my Galaxy S II, and ironically two Verizon reps were impressed with my phone!!  They told me how everyone comes in and asks for that phone... but they don't carry it!  Anyways, they did their normal sales rep thing while I upstaged them with more knowledge than they think they know.  I held the phone and while it has a very unusual narrow length to it I appreciated it!  The 4.65 inch screen is no easy feat to have on a phone as wide as a 4.3 inched screened phone.

The phone felt good in my hand but again, the narrowness also drew an awkward feel.  Seeing this phone did get me the high I was looking for.   It also made me appreciate my Galaxy S II.  The camera is great especially the "no shutter-lag".  Take multiple pictures without waiting is amazing!  The screen was also very crisp and sharp!  I loved how it looked and how quick everything was.  As so it should be since it boasts a lucrative 720p resolution.  With that being said, all this resolution stuff is so much hype.  It does look great but so does my Galaxy S II with a resolution no where nearly as sharp.  The same goes for the Retina display which uses an IPS screen.  It does look really good but nothing that is necessarily needed unless you are into that stuff.  Well, hopefully Sprint does get the Galaxy Nexus so I can refill the high I am so desperately looking for!
