It seems that Sony may have had plans and patents for a touchscreen super controller way back before Nintendo. Sony’s version seems to have been intended as more of an augmented reality device that would create “an avatar on a mobile device such that it appears to overlay a competing user in the real world.” Maybe Sony had plans for us to walk around holding controllers and playing with virtual people.
